一、To analyze the book.
The importance and the effect of the book.
The main content of this lesson is to grasp the expression of Birthday.The important sentences of this lesson are “This is for you. I like making…. Blow out all the candles,Ken..”The students can grasp and use the sentences frequently.To improve the students’ abilities of listening,speaking,reading,writing and communion.
二、To approach the book.
Teaching aims are according to the English teaching argument.To make the students master the English basic knowledges and to improve the students’ ability of using language.To motivate the students’ interests of studing English.
1. Knowledge aims:
�、�. To grasp the important sentences, “ This is for you. I like making…. Blow out all the candles,Ken.”

2. Ability aims:
To improve the students’ abilities of listening,speaking,reading,writing and communion.

To educate the students’ feeling of regarding each other.

Let the students use the important sentences frequently.

The use of the important sentences.
三、Teaching steps.
Step I: Sing a song.(Let the students go into the English state)
Step II: Revision.
Show the words pictures of lesson 1,then call several students to spell the words.
Step III: Presentation.
1.教授單詞candle(s)
教師在黑板上用簡筆畫畫出肯的頭像，讓學(xué)生猜這個(gè)人物是誰，然后告訴學(xué)生今天是肯的生日，師生共唱生日歌，然后出示一張蛋糕卡片，告訴學(xué)生“This cake is for ken.”指著蛋糕上的'蠟燭教授學(xué)生candle(s)并進(jìn)行個(gè)體與整體的練習(xí)。
2.句子Blow out all the candles.
教師做吹蠟燭動作，教授單詞blow，進(jìn)行單詞拼背練習(xí)，然后引出句子 Blow out all the candles.
3.教授句型I like making a robot.
a.教師出示一個(gè)禮品盒（里面裝著一個(gè)機(jī)器人），問學(xué)生“What’s this?”學(xué)生會回答“It’s a present.”復(fù)習(xí)了上節(jié)課單詞“present”。
b.教師繼續(xù)問“What’s in it?”然后找?guī)酌麑W(xué)生將手伸進(jìn)禮品盒中摸一摸，猜一猜“It’s a ….”（這一活動可以激發(fā)學(xué)生興趣，調(diào)動他們的積極性）
c.學(xué)生猜對后，教師將機(jī)器人拿出,將機(jī)器人身體的各個(gè)部位一邊組合在一起，一邊說“I like making a tobot.”
d.教師手拿機(jī)器人問學(xué)生“Do you like making robots?”引導(dǎo)學(xué)生問句型“Yes,I like making a robot.”回答。
e.教師拿出一張紙，將其疊成一頂帽子，戴在頭上說“I like making hats.”接著教師提問“What do you like making?”學(xué)生回答“I like making ….”使這個(gè)句型能得到充分練習(xí)。
f.讓學(xué)生用準(zhǔn)備好的紙做自己喜歡的物品。
4.句型This is for you.
讓學(xué)生將自己做好的物品送給自己的好友，操練句型“This is for you.Thank you.You’re wellcome.”
（３、４兩句話在引出與練習(xí)過程中，都設(shè)置在情景中，使學(xué)生能更好的感知和運(yùn)用句型）
5. To listen to the tape and answer the question.
a. What did Jess sand for Ken?
b. Does Ken like it?
6. To read the dialogue in pairs.
7. To recite every paragraph.
8. Have a match to check the students.
9. Homework.
